The ASUS – P5KPL-AM/PS Review

A result of advanced Japanese technology, it has VRM solid capacitors with a life span of approx. 5000hrs. The motherboard is based on an Intel G31 + ICH7 chipset.

Design

It has a good and elegant layout. It is a motherboard of standard micro ATX size. Two memory slots are available to expand the RAM up to 8 GB. To ensure its durability it has solid capacitors around the CPU power area.

The power socket is located at the corner. One PCIe x16 slot, one PCIe x1 slots and two 32-bit PCI slots can also be used on the motherboard as expansions. It also includes the latest HDMI port.

The Asus P5KPL-AM/PS fully supports the Intel Quad-core CPU and features a 1600(OC)/1333/1066/800MHz FSB, PCI Express x 16, a Serial ATA interface, a high performance integrated graphics engine, a dual-channel DDR2 1066(O.C.)/800/667 memory, and a 6 Channel HD Audio CODEC.

The ASUS – P5KPL-AM/PS offers a very fast graphic performance at a really pocket friendly affordable price. It has an excellent compatibility with the Intel 45 nm multi-core processor.

The 2 X COM Ports and a power stabilizer are its additional features which amount to a better performance. Also the motherboard’s anti surge feature helps to prevent any damage to the computer due to a power surge.

Performance

The ASUS – P5KPL-AM/PS offers a really good performance and it is user friendly. In fact it is quite good for an entry level motherboard. ASUS backs up its quality with a 5 years warranty. The motherboard has performed well in various tests.

The ASUS – P5KPL-AM/PS comes with a SATA cable and an IDE Cable. A driver disk, case badge, a user manual and a quick installation guide are also included in the package.
