The HP Mini 2140 is another successor of successful HP Mini 1000 notebook, just like HP Mini 110. HP has come up with metallic body for HP Mini 2140.  This notebook has also corrected the problem with other notebooks of small keyboards, by offering a big easy-to-use keyboard.  Also, HP Mini 2140 has a full ExpressCard/54 slot unlike most other notebooks that have the smaller card reader slot.

Features of the HP mini 2140

This notebook has a variety of features. A 5400 rpm, 160 GB hard disk, a 1 GB RAM. It has the Windows XP Home edition as its OS and a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU.

It measures 10.3 by 6.5 inches with 3 pounds weight. This is a good buy for those who want to upgrade from a laptop to a miniature notebook. However, the users have to do with the little screen size, which is about 10 inches in HP Mini110. Also the notebook has a scrolling mouse which is much more tedious than the mouse buttons available in a laptop.

HP Mini 2140’s metallic body makes it heavier than other notebooks but it is worth the heavy weight as it is more rugged and suitable for extreme conditions than plastic notebooks. Its bigger keys, also, are a comfort for standard computer users. The user will not have to learn to punch smaller keys and experience the discomfort involved while using HP Mini 2140. This notebook, further, offers an interesting touchpad with buttons on both sides of the touchpad.

The 10.1-inch wide-screen offers a fabulous resolution of 1,024×576. HP Mini 2140 also comes with a set of interesting features like a VGA video camera, headphone and microphone jack, USB port, express card reader and Bluetooth. It is Wi-Fi enabled too.

Warranty

This system carries a one year parts as well as labor warrantee from HP. Further, for occasional software troubles, the user can contact online knowledge base or call on 24/7 toll-free numbers.
